This fund is to purchase animals for the project and to pay veterinary fees for the animals on site. Cows provide milk for the children and chickens provide eggs, both vital sources of much needed protein in the children's' diet. In addition, a piggery has been started- the pigs that are raised are sold to earn money for the project. A milking cow and calf cost approximately $500.00, a chicken costs $6.00, and a pig costs around $50.00.
The kids let the pigs graze during the day, then round them up to stay in their pens in the evening.
Cows receive their regular vaccinations.
